DUBAI FISHING TRIPS: WHERE TO FISH?

Most common deep sea fishing trips occur about 16-20 miles away from shore. Thats is where the biggest fish are caught and its worth the bumpy ride there and back. Depending on the time of year we may fish closer or farther to shore, also depending on the movement of the fish and the seagull behaviour aswell as just a general awareness possessed by our experienced fishing captains.

SEASONS & TIMING FOR FISHING TRIPS IN DUBAI

The best time to go deep sea fishing in Dubai is early morning, starting off around 6 AM. In the winter months (Jan-Mar) there is quite a decent catch in the afternoon slot (2-6pm) as well. These are the 2 slots during which we run our Dubai fishing trips. Undeniably, the best time of the year to fish in Dubai is January until May, with the January to March subset being a highlight within that season.

The fishing season in Dubai generally lasts from November until May. There are different fluctuations across different seasons, but different fish are more likely to be caught in different months. For example January & February has an increase chances of catching Cobia. Fishing Methods in Dubai

Trolling
Trolling is a popular fishing method in Dubai, especially for targeting fast-swimming pelagic species like kingfish, dorado, and tuna. It involves trailing baited lines behind a moving boat, allowing anglers to cover a large area of water and attract fish that are drawn to the movement and vibrations of the bait.
Bottom Fishing
Bottom fishing is ideal for targeting species that inhabit the seabed, such as snapper, grouper, and various types of reef fish. Anglers use weighted rigs baited with natural or artificial baits to lure fish from the bottom. Choose a suitable location with rocky outcrops, reefs, or underwater structures where bottom-dwelling fish congregate. Use heavy-duty fishing gear and strong lines to handle the potential resistance from larger fish. Pay attention to subtle bites or taps indicating fish activity near the seabed.
Jigging

It’s a traditional and highly effective method for catching a wide variety of game fish, including sailfish, king mackerel, and barracuda.
